Sheena Douglas stamps

I know I said I wasn't going to buy new stamps but I just loved the new Sheena Douglas victorian  ones.....they are however quiet large and do need to be the focal point of at least an 8x8 card.....
I took my inspiration from a sample I saw on create and craft......

I coloured the poppies with aqua tints after watching Sheen doing her demo on the TV.....the sentiment is a tonic die.....
Hope you are having fun crafting today......

back to using unstamped stamps!

after watching Sheena Douglas on create and craft the other day I remembered buying some butterfly stamps a couple of years ago.....I remember thinking when they arrive that they were very big and I think that put me off using them....well the time has come!

I have done my stamping with brown stazon and then distressed with walnut stain....the stamps cut out beautifully on my scan and cut so that saved some time!
The die cuts are the Sue Wilson nobel dies....
getting through my unused stamps only about 10 years to go.....

Hope you are happily crafting too.....

Star boxes....

I was watching the crafters companion show on create and craft this week and they had templates for a star box...thats nice I thought but I know me I hate and detest templates....so a quick search on the internet and found me some SGV files on myscrapchick.....

I thought they were going to be fiddly to put together but easy peasy.......I made the matts and layers using the original cuts just adjusting the size in scan and cut canvas.....the sentiment is a tonic die and so is the butterfly.....

the second box is 5 inches tall and takes a bottle of perfume....I made flowers using Heartfelt creations posy patch flowers again cut out on my scan and cut....the label is doohickey... and the sentiment tonic.....the SGV files were $1 ...in the sale!
Hope you are having a lovely craft day.......

Christmas card club challenge 10 Rita's choice ...a village scene

Its time for our Christmas card club challenge...where does the time go ....this challenge was for a village scene so I have used my crafters companion die ......

I cut the die out 6 times ...3 white and 3 black  and then off set the images slightly and cut down the layers and decoupaged them up onto black glitter card that I made myself ...so messy its such fun!.....note to self ...buy more black glitter....
The sentiment is from Hobby art and the banner cut with the Sue Wilson pierced flags dies....
Please go and have a look at all the fabulous cards made by the rest of the lovely girls....all the links to their blogs are on my side bar.....

stamping with Sheena Douglas.....

I just fell in love with this stamp ...

its from the Sheena Douglas perfect partners Little Acorn rubber stamp set.....coloured with distress inks
I hand cut the squirrel but the leaves and acorns I cut out with my scan and cut ....that saved time!....I used a very old stamps away mask for the background which I letter pressed with walnut stain distress ink and then painted the leaves and acorns with more distress inks,
and the sentiment is a Clarity stamp....
I made the mistake of using glossy accents on the squirrel and leaves which makes it horrible to photograph but certainly intensified the colours in real life I am very pleased with the effect....
I hope you are having a happy crafty day....its raining here today so guess where I will be.....

using up spares....

Lizzie has been doing a tutorial using the Heartfelt creations Peacock paisley collection and she kindly donated some of the spare stamped images to me!....

I didn't have the paper pad so I used an old stamp I had to create a background....and just had fun creating the flowers....the die is a spellbinder die...Fleur de Elegance....and the matt's I cut using my scan and cut.....
Hope you are having a lovely weekend and enjoying your crafting!
