Trying a different shaped card

I wanted to use my crafters companion edgables with my decoupage so I cut it out of the front of the card

then cut a few more of the reindeer and layered them up so that they would give a bit more rigidity....and then made up the stylecraft decoupage and put that on the back section of the card
lots of glitter for sparkle....
I hope you are enjoying your crafting and thank you for popping by my blog.

a Sunday workshop with Sheena Douglas

a real treat...my niece Elizabeth, great niece Caitlyn and I treated ourselves to a day out at crafter's companion at Newton Aycliffe to take a Sheena Douglas workshop...we had a wonderful time getting inky and playing with aqua tints...glad I took my pinny.....

it was a great day and Sheena kept us laughing all day....
but the day ended on a sad note as when we returned home it was to a phone call at 7pm to say that my sister in law had died...she slipped into a coma on saturday after days of refusing to eat or drink...and decided to leave us after her friend for the past 60 years left her side after visiting time, she had lost the will to live and just wanted to go.laughter and sadness its what life is...

A new challenge at Butterfly challenge blog

Mrs A has a new challenge at Butterflys challenge blog....the letter V for Vase or vanilla,so I thought I would have a go with this weeks card for my step sister in law who is poorly....

a vase of roses......
I have used the Jane Shasky cd Heart of the garden and done a shaped card with decoupage....I have glossy accented the vase but sadly that doesn't show on my photo....nor does all the glitter I have highlighted the roses with.....a get well sentiment and a pretty pink butterfly.....hope this meets the criteria for the challenge and that it cheers up my dear sister in law who is struggling to stay with us.

A shaped Christmas card

I see that the challenge over at Sparkles Christmas challenge is a shaped card....so I thought I would enter this card for the challenge

I have used the crafter's companion create a die....traditional wreath....cut out several times and adhered to a glittered background..matted and layered onto silver mirri...wish it would show better on photos it looks black but it is silver.and matted again onto a white base made using the outer die to make the shaped card.a few gems and a sentiment from Britannia dies...hope this meets the criteria as I noticed that most of the DT used stamped images on their cards...sure they will letme know.
