christmas challenge 25...a snowy scene...

so sorry to be late Rita with this the last challenge of the year but my computer needed a kick ....metaphorically speaking.....but now back onto the internet

I have used heartfelt creations papers,stamps and dies with the Sue Wilson die for the sentiment...
that's it ......the last christmas card!....for this year.
I will be popping round all the blogs later to see your lovely creations....can you hear the sigh of relief I really thought it was a new laptop tomorrow....

having fun in my craft room.....not!

you know those days when nothing goes right ..well the day I made this card was one of those....it started okay but then I changed my mind about my layout and from that point I was chasing my tail to cover up boobo after boboo...

what was meant to be a clean and simple card...ended up with me cutting lots of greenery to cover up a wonky aperture....lesson to self...stick to your plan.
I have used heartfelt creations celebrate the seasons papers and lots of marianne design pine cones and pine branches dies for round the wonky aperture....

an advent calendar

I decided that this year I would make myself an advent calendar.....

and as I had a half price coupon from Hobbycraft....I bought two....this is my first one .....painted with imagination crafts starlight metallic paint...red......I decided to use my graphic 45 St Nicholas pad....yes I actually cut into it!
thank goodness for my scan and cut...all the draw fronts....and my cricut for the numbers....
the sleigh is a tonic die from last year and the poinsettia is heartfelt creations....
really pleased with it ....

November Rudolph day challenge

the last one of the year....where has the time gone

just been making my sister in laws card,she likes a colour coordinated room and does red and gold  so this card is perfect....
Tonic dies from last year, I am still using stash that I have bought and never used....

christmas card club challenge 24....mixed media

the penultimate challenge of the year....and Mary has chosen mixed media & trees....so a quick search through my stencils...

yes its got trees.....tick....and I have used cosmic shimmer gold pearl texture paste...tick .it looks quite pale on the photo but in real life its a lovely soft gold.....
I have used creative expressions shiny black card to stencil on...matted and layered onto a textured gold card stock....LOTV sentiment...
Well thats nearly it for this year only one more challenge to go...have you got all your cards done for the season?....its great being part of this challenge as it helps me to make christmas cards right through the year...

this one is made using Heartfelt creations Snow Kissed and Celebrate the season stamps and dies and the paper pad...I had great fun colouring the parcels with copics and making them 3 dimensional round the aperture.....

Just a few more cards to make ...then its onto the tags.....

my lovely niece Elizabeth gave me a wonderful embossing folder that I had been searching the internet for for ages...she had 2 of them....

I have been looking for something with a large circle area to show off these lovely LOTV images I bought about 10 years ago...I had used all the smaller images that that came on the sheet and just have the big square ones left...so Elizabeth to the rescue....its a crafters companion folder from the Sara Davies winter wonderland collection that is no longer available....the tiny poinsettia are Heartfelt creations....celebrate the season collection....ans the sentiment is LOTV too....

prills for the centre of the flowers and glossy accents to make the leaves shine a few nuvo drops on the wreath .
I have loads of these toppers in boxes so now I can start getting on making cards...maybe an easel card next time.....

Christmas card club challenge....23 Reindeer

this weeks challenge is Lorraine choice ....and I have been dying to use my Sheena Douglas purchases but haven't really had the courage to get going...it all looks so easy when I watch  her demo...but getting those stamps and dies to line up takes a bit of practise...well for me .....

this is my second go...you really don't want to see the first it ended up in the bin .....
this one is scenic winter with matching stamps and tree dies.....I coloured using a mixture of the aqua pencils and distress inks....lots of cosmic shimmer iced snow which is really blingy....

using old stash.....week 2

I loved this stamp when I first bought it but I wasn't very good at colouring or cutting out  then...but I noticed that penny black brought out a die to match the image and bought it hoping it was the same size....yeeeh it is and so I think I will be using Snowy again ...and again.....

I used a very old Heartfelt creations tree stamp magnificent spruces for the background...a freebie sentiment stamp...I think its crafters companion....coloured with my copics and added cosmic shimmer iced snow....the frame is made using Sue Wilson's pieced squares...

this weeks card for Aunty

I was very naughty last week...I said I wouldn't buy anything new didn't I ...well I saw this flip fold die from Anna Griffin and blow me before I knew it I had bought the kit! how did that happen...watching the craft channel big mistake.....well not really its lovely and this is the first card I have made using it .....

so confession time over and back to my resolution to stamp up all my unused....going to do one per week.....how long is it going to take me ?

a Sunday christmas card

having fun paling with craftwork cards frozen forest collection......I just love this image which I have cut out of the 8x8 sheet of paper.....

 and as you get 3 sheets of each design I thought I would make an easel card as well....

the last sheet of course I will be keeping to stroke!.....

still using old crafty stash

I have been looking through my rubber stamps...so neglected over the past few years as I seem to make most of my cards with die cuts...and I found so many I have never even inked up...I am setting myself the target to use each and every one....

so here is snowy family a lovely penny black stamps from....heaven knows I do remember buying it on e bay......I have coloured the image using copics having cut the image out using my scan and cut...........of course there are a few die cuts too...marianne design trees....and the embossing folder is crafters companion embosalissious...snow...cosmic shimmer iced snow...and distress inks....

Christmas card club challenge 22...Anything goes

it was Sylvie's choice this week.......so I have been having fun with Craftwork cards christmas cheer collection

I have used tattered lace pierced circle dies to make the easel card and papers and a topper from the christmas cheer collection...the holly is my favorite tattered lace die coloured with copics and the spruce is a marianne die...LRO438....all have been glossy accented to make the berries shine and the sentiment triple embossed with clear embossing powder to give it that tile look.....

october Rudolph day challenge

its time for the october Rudolph day challenge at scrappymo's ...and I have been having a bit of fun making a very glittery card......

I recently watched Sue Wilson doing her demos on the TV and loved a card she made...so here is my version of it using the dies I already have....Heartfelt creations snowflake dies....Sue wilson holly background for the stitched square....Sue wilson Holly branch...cut 10 of them and stuck them to the white card which had already got double sided adhesive sheet adhered to it....trimmed round the edges and then covered in cosmic shimmer iced snow...matted and layered using the Sue Wilson pieced square dies and the sentiment is from Tonic....
Do go over to scrappymos and have a go there are always good prizes to win....

this weeks card for Aunty

well it really feels that autumn is here and yes the heating is on.....we are just back from our trip down south to meet our newest family member Edie Bluebell who weighed in at 5lb 3 oz....and then on to see my dear old uncle Mark who is 95 and still in his own home ....putting me to shame cooking his own meals  bless....
this is  a cheer up for Aunty who was so sparky when we were up there and telling us she is going to live to be 100

I have used the butterfly embossalicious embossing folder and a tattered lace boarder embossing folder...the dies are both Anna Griffin as is the sentiment stamp...a but of distress ink and some soft gold card.....

Tonic dies......

another of my unused dies hoicked out of a basket!....honestly I have so many I may never need to buy anything again.......not!

I have taken the die out of its packaging so I am afraid I don't know its name but I do know its Tonic Verso...the sentiment is also tonic....my scan and cut came in handy for making the matts and layers and the base card.....I drew round the die..scanned it in and then played!

I bought the crafters companion christmas edge'ables when they first came out and forgot all about them ...this one is christmas garden.....with Memory box frostyville boarder at the top and Marianne designs sentiment...a few Nuvo drops and ribbon.
I am away again this week visiting my 95 year old uncle in Bournemouth....from one end of the country to the other!

I have used the Sue Wilson Holly background just simply matted and layered on to lots of glittery layers and a few bits of bling added......then I had another go as I am now making cards two at a time

same format but using a crafters companion sentiment and the Sue Wilson poinsettia set of dies

and tonic Nuvo drops to finish off

this weeks card for Aunty...

I am determined to use up some of my card and delve into those kits I bought years ago.....

when I first started crafting I bought this kit fron QVC after seeing Dawn Bibby demoing...but by the time they arrived I didnt know what to do with then....there wasnt pinterest then ,and no where to go for inspiration....they have sat in boxes on my shelves for at least ....5 years maybe more, I think that now I am a bit more experienced I can see what they will make...however simple or complex so I am dusting down the kits and having a play

and as I have a few autumn birthdays I used the same design to make a birthday card...

a new challenge at Winter Wonderland....lots of layers/Wish upon a star

I decided to go for the lots of layers

I have done 2 layers of backing papers...from the tattered lace christmas character Santa cd....two layers cut out on the snowflake...heartfelt creations die....4 layers of decoupage on Santa...and 4 layers on the Merry Christmas  a tonic die...lots of glitter and glossy accents.....

I really had forgotten I had this die even though I used it a lot a couple of years ago ...I saw a card on pinterest and thought I love that...get that die out and have a go again.....

the sentiment is the memory box Happy Christmas...memory box frosty boarder and Joy craft deer....
I like the clean simple look so I also did it in red...

I had just bought the heartfelt creations snow kissed collection and saw a card of the blog that I loved and decided to do a similar version of....the poinsettia are from the sparkling poinsettia set but all the other elements are from the new collection....with the addition of snowy acetate ...and lots of glitter...

Trying a different shaped card

I wanted to use my crafters companion edgables with my decoupage so I cut it out of the front of the card

then cut a few more of the reindeer and layered them up so that they would give a bit more rigidity....and then made up the stylecraft decoupage and put that on the back section of the card
lots of glitter for sparkle....

a sunday christmas card or two....

yes I have been using my graphic 45.....a christmas carol......nearly gone now.....

 this one has the tim Holtz carollers cut out of black...I bought the die cuts off e bay when I found out that to buy the die was going to cost me £52.00...no way!lots of fussy cutting of the flowers

this one uses the tim holtz lamp post and the other die cuts I again bought off e bay.....no idea what brand.....
I only have a few sheets left in the pack now......but I really enjoyed making these

I have been playing with myAnna Griffin dies again......

I decided to try for elegant,so cut them from centura pearl one in white and one in ivory.....and applied a bit of gilding wax to highlight the embossing.....a spellbinders tag die and an LOTV sentiment,a bit of ribbon ...matting and layering and step away from the card......

as you can see I have been having way too much fun playing with my cricut....there are 4 layers to every parcel and 3 layers on the stepper card....then embellishments...think this qualifies as lots of layers
